THE 5-STEP METHOD TO SOOTHING YOUR BABY

There are 5 steps you can try to quiet and calm down a crying newborn.

By applying these steps one at a time, one of them is sure to work.

The first of these is swaddling; let me explain this while giving you a demo.

The second step is making a hush sound close to baby’s ear while he rests on your arm or shoulder (I’ll give you a demo on this too).

The third step is the lying position; I’ll again do a demo.

The fourth step is having him lie down on his tummy on your arm and moving him up and down, left and right (show)

The fifth step: Place baby in his carrier and carry him in contact with your body throughout the day except when you have to meet your own needs (showering, going to the toilet) and when changing his diapers. This intimacy will ensure that your baby is frequently fed and will keep him calm. A baby who is calm throughout the day will also be calm at night. A baby who is in his mother’s arms in an environment where he gets an immediate response at all times all-day-long becomes trusting and stays quiet. It also has a positive effect on ill-tempered babies, whose connections strengthen when carried in the lap all-day-long. This reduces baby’s tendency to be moody and ensures he stays calmer throughout the night.
